Vector Unit recently released Riptide GP2 for Xbox One, a game which I quite enjoyed and reviewed at release, now they are back on Xbox One and Playstation 4 this time with Beach Buggy Racing!
Originally a free-to-play game on mobile by the name of Beach Buggy Blitz it has undergone some big changes to make it fit the console audience as a premium $10/£8 game by removing all of the features that come with a free launch on mobile: No timers, ads or in-app purchases as well as a completely retuned game economy so the player can unlock upgrades quicker and easier.
“Beach Buggy is back with an explosive sequel! Drive into an action-packed, surprise-filled world of off-road kart racing mayhem. Race against a field of rival drivers, each with unique personalities and special abilities. Build a collection of crazy powerups, like Dodgeball Frenzy, Fireball, and Oil Slick. Unlock and upgrade a variety of cars, from dune buggies to monster trucks. Test your skills in 6 different game modes on 15 imaginative 3D race tracks, against a pack of tropical-loving rivals with a serious case of road rage!”
The big feature of Vector Unit’s games on console is split-screen multiplayer where it allows for 4 player multiplayer mayhem on Playstation 4 and 6 players on Xbox One, along with other features:
- Completed returned economy (as mentioned above)
- All cars and powerups unlocked from the beginning
- New 1000 HP career series
- Remixed other career series for career mode
- Gamerscore and trophies
I really liked Riptide GP2 and I’m looking forward to checking out Beach Buggy Racing when it launches 29th May 2015 on Xbox One and Playstation 4
